This spacious Artist Lofts is located in Long Island City, Queens, just ten minutes by subway to Times Square and the rest of Manhattan; hipster Brooklyn, Williamsburg and Greenpoint, are also close. Architecturally designed and newly renovated, the decor includes original wide plank wood flooring, exposed brick walls and a contemporary kitchen; and is flooded with light from three exposures, views of Manhattan and one skylight. It is attractively furnished with an eclectic mix of original artwork, modern furniture and North African carpets and textiles. The master bedroom has a queen size bed and a view to the east and the second bedroom has a full size bed with a view to the south: the white tiled bathroom has a shower and tub. Amenities include WiFi, air conditioning, internet-ready flat screen TV,microwave

coffee-maker, ceiling fan, all linens and a full kitchen. The loft is located two flights up from the street. Smoking is not permitted.

Long Island City is one of New York's newest artistic neighborhoods; it has hipster cafes, ethnic restaurants and art galleries right next to old world Italian restaurants. This is the place for gourmet eating with many young chefs setting up shop here! One particularly great local restaurant is Tournesol, a neighborhood fixture, owned and operated by a family from south west France. For art lovers, PS 1/MoMa Contemporary Art Center, the Noguchi Museum, and Sculpture Center are all near.

GUEST REVIEWS

Spacious loft with mix of antique

furniture!

Guest: Martina, Berlin, Germany

This summer I spent four weeks in this wonderful loft. It is spacious and has a great mix of new and antique furniture. It is lovingly decorated with modern art, it is bright and silent and at a night you can see the wonderful illuminated Chrysler Building in Manhattan. I travelled by myself and felt safe in the house and the neighborhood. The owners are very nice, helpful, with good recommendations and answered immediately my questions. I would rent it again and I’ll recommend this loft to friends. In the past years I have been to New York several times ; this was my first time in Long Island City and I was surprised how nearby Manhattan is. My favorite was to take a ride on the East River Ferry from LIC (five minutes from the apartment) to Dumbo or the Financial District. Just Great! Long Island City is quiet, easy-going with nice restaurants, a good supermarket, a flea-market and the wonderful Gantry Park with a skyline view of Manhattan. I had a great time at this loft in New York.

Best Kept Secret on Long Island City!

Guest: Jed and Laura, USA

Long Island City has come a long way (since I grew up in Brooklyn years ago) and is an amazing and vibrant place to stay; very safe; apartment location is excellent; simple 1 stop subway ride into Grand Central; excellent cafes and restaurants, park along the East River is nearby. The apartment is in a lovely building; apartment is bright, clean, spacious and very comfortable; has everything needed for a long or short visit. We return next week for four weeks and are looking forward to it. Owner and assistant are easy to deal with and very professional.

Amazing and totally Unexpected!!!

We would recommend this apartment for anybody wanting to holiday in New York. The owner, David waited for our arrival, even though there were traffic jams from the airport. He provided any information that was required. The apartment is a good, clean apartment with everything you need. It is located on Long Island. A five minute walk away you get the picture post card view of Manhattan, which was amazing and totally unexpected and it not what you get if you stay on the island and many people miss this amazing viewing experience. Manhattan was only one stop away with frequent metro trains. It was nice to stay in a friendly safe local area with locals, who thought we'd just moved i! Better that being a normal tourist and being around other clicky happy tourists and staying in a regular hotel in the middle of it all. We recommend this place for people who are fed up with crappy hotels and who want to enjoy New York which is very near, but enough distance away to view it from a better and alternative view point.

Loved this place - didn't want to leave!

I stayed here for a few days before my husband joined me for the rest of the month. The loft is fabulous perfectly placed, comfortable and with everything you need for an enjoyable stay in NYC. We felt like locals when we stayed here and are sure we had a better visit to NYC than if we'd been in a soulless hotel in Manhattan. Getting to the loft from the airport is easy, and traveling into the City couldn't have been easier. Everything is on hand locally, from great delis and restaurants to coffee bars and museums. The area is totally safe - I was alone for a few days and did not feel threatened at all, even using the subway alone about 10 pm. Perfect overall, and dealing with CitySonnet was a pleasure - if we get the chance to visit NYC again, we'll be back here and have already recommended to friends. :-)
