This Artist Loft in New York City offers a high quality, unique city living experience, exclusively available to discerning and sophisticated travelers for monthly rental and sublets. As an alternative to cookie-cutter hotel accommodations the loft is imaginatively furnished with imported carpets and textiles, and an eclectic mix of antique and contemporary furniture. This luxurious, spacious loft apartment has its own idiosyncratic personality that includes a colorful selection of rotating artwork by local New York and Brooklyn artists. Architecturally designed and recently renovated, the decor includes red oak wood flooring, exposed brick walls and a contemporary kitchen with an island and bar stools. The master bedroom has a queen size bed and the second bedroom has a full size bed with a view to the south: the white tiled bathroom has a shower and tub.

Amenities include free WiFi, air conditioning, internet ready flat screen TV, microwave, washing machine, ceiling fan, all linens and a full kitchen with dishwasher. The loft is located one flight up from the street. Smoking is not permitted.

Effortlessly cool, the artsy neighborhood of Long Island City is a hip, buzzy enclave in Queens, just ten minutes from Times Square and Williamsburg. It has hipster cafes, ethnic restaurants and art galleries right next to old world Italian restaurants. One particularly great restaurant is Casa Enrique with authentic Chiapan cuisine. This is the place for gourmet eating with many young chefs setting up shop here! Make “LIC” your perfect base for exploring other parts of “NYC”, whether your booking is nightly or monthly.

GUEST REVIEWS

Perfection!!!

Guest: JL, London

I have holidayed in New York many times, staying in a wide variety of accommodations: swish uptown, staid mid-town, hip down-town Manhattan hotels, rented apartments in Brooklyn and houses in Jersey City. In October 2013, I, together with my husband, elderly mother and niece, stayed in the Orange Loft in Long Island City, which in my opinion, is easily ‘The Best’.

Location: 1 stop (5 minutes) to Grand Central Station, 3 stops (8 minutes) to Times Square on the 7 Train from the Vernon Boulevard/Jackson Avenue Subway station a minutes walk from the Apartment. Easy transport links to all other areas of Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens. Reliable local taxi services. Relaxing riverside walks with film-set Manhattan skyline as awe-inspiring backdrop.

Neighborhood: residential, diverse, vibrant, great range of restaurants, cafes, galleries, supermarkets, pharmacies - detailed local information folders in the Loft enable you to find your way with ease to whatever you need. Yet in spite of its proximity to central Manhattan, the area has a small, safe and friendly feel: the restaurateurs and shopkeepers knew and remembered us within a few days. The amount of building work in progress - luxury flats and warehouse conversions - and the number of professional couples with young children at weekend brunch shows we’re not the only ones to appreciate the neighborhood’s appeal!

Apartment: the Loft is clean, spacious and tasteful with all amenities you could possibly need but no extraneous clutter Even better than the attractive photos suggest. As others have remarked - from the first moment you enter the loft you feel as though you are living as a genuine New Yorker resident, not merely staying as a transitory guest in an anonymous hotel or someone else’s home.

Hosts: Booking is secure and very straightforward. Margaret and David strike exactly the right balance between availability and intrusion. They are both extremely friendly, knowledgeable about NY and enthusiastic advocates of LIC living. Although no-where in evidence they are almost magically readily available by e-mail or in person to deal immeadiately with any any questions or give any information you may need.

In order to give a balanced view I’ve tried very hard to think of some disadvantages of staying in the Artist Loft in LIC - but I simply can’t do so!

Perfection!!!

Guest: Ashley, Florida, USA

My husband and I stayed in one of City Sonnet's apartments and honestly can't say enough good things about our experience! From the very first communication through the follow up email to see how our stay was… perfection! The apartment was brand new and fully stocked to accommodate our needs! You can't beat the location if you're looking to be close to the action but not quite "in" the action! Literally 1 train stop from Manhattan and about a 1 minute walk to the 7 train to take you there! We've found our NYC home away from home for all of our future trips!

It was absolutely the best place to stay!

Guest: Roxanne and teenage daughter Amara, USA

Quiet and yet close to all the transportation. We loved it!!!! It really couldn't have been better - we walked around the neighborhood and felt safe at all times. At no time was I worried about Amara walking by herself anywhere at all. Hopefully we can come back in the near future and visit again.

Wonderful apartment in a great

neighborhood - a great find!

We (parents and 15 year old son) spent a month here in October and loved every minute. Such great value for an apartment of this size and standard and with so much on the doorstep - giving a sense of what real New York is like. Subway stop (line 7) only a couple of minutes away and then 5 minutes to Grand Central. A month subway pass paid for itself many times over! Long Island City is clearly fast becoming a hip neighborhood - lots of great places to eat and drink, delis, new apartments, food store only a few minutes away, amazing views across to Manhattan from nearby Gantry Park and then some fantastic art a short bus/subway ride away (PS1, Socrates Sculpture Park, Noguchi Museum). I would highly recommend this as a comfortable base for exploring Manhattan as well as Queens, Brooklyn and WIlliamsburg - for a fraction of the cost of staying elsewhere. The apartment felt like home immediately and we could have happily stayed for another month or two! Only half an hour from JFK by taxi too. Thanks to David - very welcoming.

100% Perfect-Highly Recommended!

Guest: George and Birgit, Berlin
